Happy Birthday Archie!!!

Today was Archie's birthday!
Rawr! Puppysaurus!

I made him a sweet little bow tie for his collar (I'll have a tutorial for Tutorial Tuesday).  Unfortunately, I didn't get a very good picture.  He's not the kind of pup who enjoys sitting still.  He was very good about wearing it though; he didn't try to knock it off his collar once.

Look mom!  I'm sitting still! (Until you take the picture, that is)

My, that camera strap is flavorful.

Do I smell treats?  I think I smell treats!
Sometime after this, Tom woke up.  So we went outside and gave Archie the ice lick.  Girly and Sassy were not interested in going outside.  Archie wasn't really impressed with the ice lick.  He licked it a couple of times and then ignored it.  He did like the pupsicles I made (basically just frozen chicken broth...I realized when I went to make the Frosty Paws that I had almost none of the ingredients, so I improvised), but he was  really only interested in them when I wasn't watching him (I have no pictures of it...I watched him through the window while he thought he was being sneaky).

Sniffing it cautiously
Enjoying a lick after running around the yard.  It was really hot today.
We hung out outside a bit while we tried to get him interested in the ice lick.

Archie likes when daddy scratches his ears

Handsome boy! (Please excuse Tom's Croc...it's not actually his, it's his dad's.  He just didn't want to go outside barefoot and they were there.)

Then we gave him the toy I made him last week.  I think it was his favorite part of the day.

This is new!

No daddy, it's mine!

All in all, I had a good time with Archie today, and I can only hope he enjoyed the day as well.  He's a really important part of our lives, and we wanted to make sure he knew that.

  1. How fun! I love how everything turned out! I have thought about the ice lick thing, and I think Max would just roll around it and try to rub his face on it. He does that on snow and ice patches... But it looked like fun!

    1. Yeah, it ended up just melting. He literally licked it twice. He was way more interested in hiding in the shade. I can't blame him though...it was really hot!

    1. He's a Dachshund/Basset Hound/Australian Cattle Dog mix. When he was little, everyone thought he was a lab.

We think he's pretty adorable too :)
