New Week, Old Idea

Monday, May 14, 2012

So in an effort to blog more often, I'm resurrecting an idea I came up with toward the beginning of the blog (almost a year ago, can you believe it?!).  Every weekday now has a theme, and I have to post at least one post pertaining to that theme each day.  I'll be introducing what these days are every day this week, so make sure you check back!

Today I'm introducing Must-Have Mondays, where I will share with you some of my favorite things right now.  I'll do my best to group things by theme.  I'll be starting out with some spring dresses I love!
five spring dresses

1.) Crossback Tiered Dress - $39.99 - The Webster at Target
I love white for spring and summer.  It's just so crisp and fresh.  And I'm loving The Webster's line at Target right now (which includes separates and accessories....they even provide some styles in petite and plus sizes!).  I really liked this dress, because it's adorable and made of cotton eyelet, which is one of my absolute favorite fabrics (my wedding dress was eyelet).  I think the silhouette is so classic and sweet, and the back has an open 'keyhole' of sorts on the lower back.  It's a fun and surprising way to update a seemingly classic dress.

2.) Striped Racerback Tank Dress - $15 - Old Navy
I'm a big fan of anything racerback, so this dress already had an edge.  It also has a slight nautical feel, which I love.  This dress just seems so easy, you know? (And not in a slutmuffin kind of way).  It's something that seems perfect for Memorial Day weekend, like you could just throw it on over your bathing suit and hit the lake.

3.) Soda Fountain Dress - $44.99 - Modcloth
I am SUCH a fan of the Soda Fountain dresses.  The style comes in several colors, and I want one in every color.  It's just a cute, classic shirt dress with retro flair.  It comes in all sorts of sizes, and is perfect for work, a date or just hanging out.

4.) The Must-have Maxi Dress - $69.50 - Victoria's Secret
Maxi dresses are really popular right now, and with good reason.  They can easily be dressed up or down, are super comfortable, and if you maybe forgot to shave your legs that day, nobody would be the wiser.  I like this style from Victoria's Secret.  I think the silhouette is sexy, and the jersey fabric makes it super comfortable.  It also comes in several different colors, and snake print.

5.) LC Lauren Conrad Floral Ruffle Crepe Dress - $44.80 - Kohl's
I'm normally kind of iffy about floral prints.  There are some I really like, but I find most of them stuffy, and like they belong on an old lady's couch.  I find the print on this dress to be a bit fuddy-duddy from a distance, but it's a lot fresher up close, and I think the silhouette really modernizes it.  The scoop neck and tiered skirt are adorable.  The crepe fabric also makes it light and breathable.

Which one is your favorite?

  1. Ooh I love them all! I am kind of obsessing over florals with dark backgrounds lately so I am dying for the LC dress! I like must have Mondays!!
