I Scream, You Scream

We all scream for ice cream!  Hurrah, hurrah, hurrah!

Yes, I was a Barney child.  In fact, I'm fairly certain my grandma still has all my old videos.

Anyway, you may or may not know this, but July is National Ice Cream month.

With that in mind, I thought today I'd share my must-have ice cream flavors.  And I love ice cream, so I tried to narrow it down.

Peppermint

My dad and I have this one in common.  I pretty much love peppermint anything, and I'm looking forward to the day I can grow my own peppermint :)

Cherry Garcia

Cherries are my favorite fruit (along with pomegranates), so cherry ice cream with cherry chunks and chocolate flakes in it?  Delicious.

I've only ever had this ice cream at one place: Madewell's in Anderson, Indiana.  It's raspberry ice cream with Mackinac Island fudge swirl and little raspberry-filled chocolate cups.  It's delicious, and it seems more indulgent than it is.

Chocolate Peanut Butter

Chocolate is an awesome flavor alone, but when combined with peanut butter, it takes it to a whole new level.  My favorite part is the the peanut butter swirl is always hardened (from being frozen, I suppose), and it's fun to bite and melts in your mouth (yeah, I'm a dork, I know).

Spumoni

I love spumoni.  Chocolate, cherry AND pistachio all together?  Yum :)

Blueberry Soft Serve at King's Island

I don't know if they have this anywhere else (I've only seen it at King's Island), but it's really freaking delicious.

What's your favorite flavor?  Have you ever tried any of my favorites?

I would also like to make sure everyone knows that Thursday, July 26, is Miracle Treat Day at Dairy Queen.  That day, if you purchase a Blizzard at participating locations in the US and Canada, $1 of your purchase will be donated to Children's Miracle Network.

But buying a Blizzard isn't the only way you can help!  If you RSVP to their Facebook event (by clicking 'join'), they'll donate $1 to CMN too, no purchase necessary!  If you are my personal FB friend, I have already sent you an invite.  If you declined the invitation, I urge you to reconsider.

It's for the kids.

    1. Yup! I know Edy's has some as part of their Fun Flavors. Some of the dairy brands, like Prairie Farms (if it's in your area) make some as well.

If they have The Old Spaghetti Factory in your area at all, they serve it as your dessert.

  3. What! National Ice Cream Month?!?! Apparently I really need ice cream before the month is over! Haha! I personally love chocolate ice cream with Reese's Cups mixed in (My favorite is at Coldstone), because I, too, share your love for chocolate + peanut butter. AMAZING. :)

    1. Oh, Coldstone...I haven't been there since I lived in Bloomington, but that's what I always got too :)

I think I'm going to need to go once we move back to Lafayette :)
