Nutella Hot Chocolate

Trick-or-treating can often be a chilly affair, so it's always nice to warm up with a nice, warm drink afterward.  I fondly remember heating up mugs of apple cider in  the microwave when I was little, but there are other fun, seasonal beverages to help get you in the mood too; check out my friend Nikki's Russian Tea, or hot chocolate.


And what could make hot chocolate even better?  Nutella!

Nutella Hot Chocolate


What you need: milk and chocolate hazelnut spread (Nutella, this Jif version, or a generic)

Start by heating your milk.  I only made one mug, so I just filled my mug to the desired height and poured it on in.  Heat on medium-low (the spot between medium and low, if your oven is anything like mine) for about three minutes or until the milk reaches your desired temperature.

Note: milk can also be heated in the microwave, but take care when doing this, because the milk is more prone to curdling.


Stir in 1-2 tablespoons of chocolate hazelnut spread per serving.  The more you use, the richer your hot chocolate will be.



Mix it until it's pretty thoroughly dissolved.


Pour your delicious goodness into a mug and enjoy!


It's warm and filling, not to mention extremely tasty (and really, it couldn't be easier!)
