Top Three Thursday -- Things I Want To Do At Disney World

Thursday, February 07, 2013

Yeah, so remember that vacation I've been talking about wanting to take? We've decided -- Disney it is! This is a dream come true for me (seriously, I'm like a five-year-old), since I've never been and have wanted to go for 20 years or so. So here are the things I'm most excited to do!

1.) Epcot, Specifically World Showcase

I was always that weird kid who wanted to go to Epcot way more than I ever wanted to ride Dumbo. Travel has always fascinated me, and the minute I heard about Epcot and the World Showcase (in some Barbie video my sister had in like 1995 or something), I knew that was where I needed to go. I can easily see myself spending the majority of my vacation here, meandering through Japan's gardens, or eating an eclair under the Eiffel Tower, or browsing the open air market in Morocco. I'd be willing to bet that this will be the absolute highlight of my vacation (other than actually going on my first vacation with Tom!).

2.) Meeting Characters, Particularly The Big Cheese Himself

Despite the fact that I'll be 25 in a matter of months, I still totally want to get a picture with Mickey Mouse (and Winnie-the-Pooh, but I'm not sure I'm willing to pay for/brave a character breakfast while still childless, and he's only found at The Crystal Palace's character meals. We'll see). I feel like it's a rite of passage. Also, knowing me, there's a good chance I'll cry the second I step foot in the Magic Kingdom, but we'll just pretend it doesn't happen, eh?

3.) Dole Whip

Having never been to Disney World, Disneyland, or Hawaii, I've never had a Dole Whip, but their reputation definitely precedes them. Everyone I know who's had one absolutely raves about them, and says they're a WDW must. I'm looking forward to trying them.

There are SO many things I'm looking forward to that it was really hard to pick just 3!

If you've been to WDW, what's your favorite thing to do. If not, what would you most want to do if you went?

  1. I've never been on a vacation but I've always wanted to go to Disney World as well. I'm not really a rides person so it would be mostly just to take it all in and people watch! LOL.

    1. I'm hoping to be pregnant when we go, so I wouldn't get to ride everything I want, but I'm okay with that. Tom's not into a lot of rides either, but we both really want to go to soak up the feeling of being there (and to go to Muppet Vision 3-D!)

  4. I just found your blog through the Aloha Blog Hop - I LOVE your design - it's so cute.

Also, I'm extremely envious that you are going to WDW! I've been to Disney Land but I barely remember it. I'm pushing 30 and I beg my hubby on the weekly to let me start planning our trip to WDW :)

    1. Thanks so much!

We've both really wanted to go for a long time, so we decided that we're going to make it happen. We're hoping to have the money to go in May, but if not, we'll go later this year.

  5. WDW is fantastic. Ive been around 10 times (most recently April 2012). Dont be concerned about going to character meals. We went to one in Animal Kingdom (me 21, hubby 25 and my 65 year old grandmother) the characters will give you attention no matter how old you are. Also, character meet and greets generally have long lines so be prepared to wait.
If you need help planning please feel free to email or message me on Facebook. I am a bit of a pro at this point.
Whatever you do, youll have a great time.

    Anyway.
