Wordless Wednesday: Anniversary Dinner

Tuesday, May 07, 2013

Today is our 2nd anniversary! We don't have much money (or dinnerware, lol) at the moment, so I made dinner for us. I went with an Italian theme, and served Caesar salad, breadsticks, fettuccine with homemade Alfredo sauce, and cannoli, which neither of us had ever had before.

We got rid of most of our stuff when we were  supposed to move to Florida last year, so we just have a small mix of dishes. I covered the table with some fabric, lit some candles (in awesome candle holders my mama gave me for Christmas!), put the breadsticks in a vase, and used some of my Granny's old goblets for drinks. Not the prettiest table I ever set, but it did the job :)

    1. I'm crazy about themes, and Italian seemed like a safe one (my husband's a picky eater). Thank you!

    1. We have two settings of different colored Fiesta, so that's what we ate off of, but the mugs didn't seem as fancy as my Granny's goblets :)

  6. This reminds me of our first and second anniversary. This year is 25 and I still think those first years are the most magical. I'm still having a great time, though! Congrats.

  8. Happy Anniversary!! I think you set a mighty fine table - and that was genius putting the bread sticks in a vase! I'm going to steal that idea... :) This will definitely be an anniversary dinner to remember! :)

    1. Thanks! Though I can't take credit for the vase idea. I saw it on Ten Dollar Dinners while I was at the gym one day (yeah, I watch Food Network while I work out), and I used that breadstick recipe as well :)
