Movis Facial Soap Review

Monday, March 16, 2015

When Tom and I were in Schaumburg last month, I got to visit a LUSH for the first time. I didn't get to spend nearly as much time (or money!) in there as I would have liked, but I didn't leave empty handed!

Until I was 21 or so, I had excellent skin. I rarely had a pimple, my complexion -- though often leaning toward the red side, which is common in my family -- was fairly even, and my skin was never dull or flaky. However, as I got older and my PCOS symptoms intensified, my skin got worse. It probably didn't help that I didn't really take care of it that well (all I've used in probably a decade on my face skincare-wise is Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash). Lately, I've really been trying to put more effort into taking care of myself, so when I went to LUSH, I knew I wanted to look for something for a cleanser.

The sales associate who helped me showed me a new product, the Movis Facial Soap. I was a little hesitant at first, having never used bar soap on my face (and having avoided bar soap in general throughout my entire adult life), but I'm definitely a convert.

Movis is different from most soaps; it has a spongy texture and smells like bread in a good way (which might have something to do with the wheat germ and bran it contains). It exfoliates and contains vitamin E, which is pretty much always a plus in my book when it comes to skin care.

Since using Movis, I haven't had any pimples. Not a single one. My forehead, which tends to be insanely flaky, has been considerably less so. My face still tends to be red (which I think is probably genetic), but it hasn't been as bad. It makes my skin feel clean, soft, and even a little more toned (if that makes sense).

Overall, I wholeheartedly recommend Movis for facial cleansing, and plan on using it for a very long time. LUSH has created a convert in me!
